WFFT Blog Launch

Pinot, barbeque and Texas-style chili; cork vs. screwcaps; how to grill the perfect salmon and…..discuss!

Welcome to The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas blog! Or, in other words; YOUR blog!

Texas’ bold culinary legacy is world renowned. And true to reputation, our chefs continue to forge new terrain. Our grape growers experiment with varietals. The wine industry is exploding and Texas sommeliers are making national headlines. We keep our finger on the proverbial ‘wine and food pulse’ and more importantly - we want to know what you have to say about it.

As a statewide charitable organization we have members, donors, friends and champions from just about every corner in Texas and beyond. Our members are professionals, amateurs, students, enthusiasts, advocates and those who just know what they like. You don’t have to be an expert to blog by any means, just a willingness to share your thoughts, experiences and opinions.

Maybe you discovered the joys of organic gardening this summer. Or perhaps you discovered a gem of a restaurant and you want to share your experience. What’s your favorite meal? What makes your favorite wine your favorite? We want to know.

Our mission is to connect our members and the public with value, creativity and craftsmanship inherently present in culinary and viticulture arts. To that end, this blog is key to our mission. You are helping us forge a new path that helps enlighten and connect people with all things food and wine in an open, respectful (and hopefully exciting) format.

As you’ve probably guessed, the Foundation’s blog will center on wine and food. But, these are by no means exhaustive topics. Both wine and food are deeply engrained in our history, culture, physiology and palates, and as a result, we’ll cover just about every related subject, from farm to table, vineyard to glass.

So pull up a chair and stay awhile. Maybe pour yourself a glass of wine. Read, discuss, challenge and delight us. Make us think, make us question, make us want to know more. We’ll do the same. Cheers to you and as the great chefs say, ‘welcome to our table’.
